Post comes in 2 section, the post light and the post. In most cases each is ordered separately.
Post Light
Post lights come in various
shapes, size, and materials. The made to use with incandescent bulbs standard. Special order can be wired for High Efficiency lighting , High
Pressure Sodium, Mercury Vapor, Metal Halide and PL bulbs.
MATERIAL
Glass
Positives: is a classy up
scale, Handles high heat, never turns color. Available in
smoke, white, clear. White glass is either opal or matte finish. Matte
cost a little more then opal but has a softer light.
Negatives: Breaks easy, Very
heavy, limited sizes up to 18," Expensive
Polyethylene
Positives: Light weight,
virtually unbreakable in the first 5 years. Large sizes available up to
36", inexpensive.
Negative: Yellows within 10
Years, Only available in white, has a seam around the circumference of the
globe.
Acrylic
Positives Light weight and
good finish. Doesn't yellow. Available
in large sizes up to 36". Available in smoke,
white, clear, and prismatic.
Negative: Can take limited
heat. Can break under duress. Mold mark on bottom size
of dime.
SuperLex
Positive: Light weight and
good finish. Can Handle High Heat. Very strong,
Available in smoke, white and clear.
Negatives: Very expensive. Limited sizes Up to 24". Mold mark the size of a dime
at the bottom of the globe.
SHAPES
We carry globes, street lights, cubes,
ellipsoids, domes and more. Globes size
range from 8” to 36”. You will need to
visit the post light pages it see all the different shapes.
Post
We carry posts from 7 to 20
feet.
Direct burial or Surface Mount
Post is attached into the ground using direct
burial or attached to the floor using a surface mount. For direct burial 2 feet of the pole is
buried into the ground. For a surface
mount the shoe base, 6 ½” bolt circle, is bolted to the floor. Custom shoe bases for custom bolt circles are
available using special quote form.
Material
Wood – Pressure treated wood
post with a grey stain. Cedar post has a red wood stain
Aluminum Post -
Aluminum is a light but strong metal with will not rust. It is either extruded or spun. It comes in varies sizes and colors. It can
be square, fluted, sculptured, smooth, or Telescopic. It comes in .050, .125 gauge thickness.
Cast Aluminum base – Some post come with
a case aluminum base that has a 6 ½” Bolt circle. It can come with or without an access door.
Polythene – Will not corrode,
chip, crack, or dent. Come 7 and 8 foot lengths, black or white.

Hand Hold – Hole in pole to
allow for wiring
Ladder Rest – Decorative
cross bar near the top of the post.
Electric Eye – Turns light off
during the day time.

Everything else over 8 foot is based on distance and weight (per 100 lbs), East Coast $100 per 100 lbs, Mid West $122 per 100 lbs, West Coast $141 per 100lbs. Once the order is complete, click on checkout, the system will request shipping destination. Shipping cost is calculated and displayed on the purchase order before final approval.
